I got a little closer to where I was going. Sometimes, in order to
find the right destination, you need to try out some di≠erent
             avenues.

                  The jc twist
This might surprise you: if you have done all this research
and preparation on my company, I really don’t mind if you

have not learned that information by heart. If you have a
set of notes in front of you and read o≠ those notes, I am
totally relaxed about that. A series of keywords to prompt

you would be better, but either way I would not mind.
Most people’s perception is that they have to memorize
everything. There is no rule written down anywhere
which states, ‘You must memorize the facts.’ If, during the
interview, you ask, ‘Would you mind if I use some notes?’

most people will be quite comfortable with you taking out
                your research.
I have had candidates who have downloaded my entire

website and I can see that they have gone through the pages
with a highlighter pen. Do you know what? If you did that,
I would be impressed. Even though you have the information
right there in front of you, I would mentally still give you the
same score as a candidate who had memorized it. And the

fact that you have highlighted key sections shows me more:
that you have thought about the relevance of information on
the site. You might think these little details are unimportant.

                I rate them very highly.
