couldn’t quite believe that the former Prime Minister of the
country I had been born in was in my house in London! It was a
bit surreal.
I feel incredibly privileged to have had such access to so many
influential people in Pakistan, and through events like the Asian
Jewel Awards – which presented me with the Entrepreneur of the
Year award in 2003 – I also now have a profile among the British
Asian community at home. I find it interesting that my Asian
heritage is more important to me as an adult than it ever was as a
kid.
