James is now CEO of private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw, based in Mayfair, London. The company was founded in 2004 and specialises in buyouts, venture capital, turnarounds and real estate investments in the UK. Subsequently over the years James has continued to be awarded for his outstanding success in business as well as receiving a number of awards for his entrepreneurship work.

In 2007 James was invited to join the panel of the highly popular BBC TV show Dragons’ Den. This has seen him become more exposed to the media industry and interested in more and more projects that are brought to him.

James has been a keen supporter of many charities and setup the James Caan Foundation in 2006  to fundamentally assist with educating children in Pakistan. Furthermore, the JCF continues to support charities in the UK working towards a number of different initiatives ranging from cancer care to providing equal opportunities for youth, but it also seeks to promote greater awareness for the developing world. James was appointed chairman of The Big Issue in December 2009

James has been involved with a number of projects for UK PLC one of which was the government backed iawards in November 2009 that celebrates the best of British science, technology and innovation in the UK. He was also appointed the new co-chair on the Ethnic Minority Business Taskforce, which supports over 280,000 businesses, contributing in excess of £20 billion a year to the UK economy. Leading on from this, Caan advised on the Rowland’s growth capital report suggesting recommendations to the panel. Recently in 2010 he was asked to advise Lord Davies on the UK Trade and Investment panel.

  James has some impressive career highlights, although he did not continue any formal education when he was young, he did later go back to study for a business degree at Havard management school. Since this he has been awarded with an honorary degree from Leeds Met as a part of the Summer 2009 graduation celebrations. Later James received another honorary doctorate in Business Administration from University of East London.
